Ai is a Psychologist and Clinical Registrar with complete registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and is an Approved Medicare Provider. Ai has worked with children, adolescents, adults and families for over nine years in a variety of public, private and research settings in both Australia and the United States. Ai holds a Masters in both Clinical and Counselling Psychology. He was previously admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, which provided him with experience in writing legal reports and documents. Ai worked as a psychologist with Mental Health at the Royal Children’s Hospital for several years, where he gained extensive experience and training in psychological testing and treating young people with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, trauma and behavioural problems. Ai is currently a Clinical Supervisor for the Master of Counselling Program at Monash University and was one of the initial members of the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma, as well as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Texas in Austin. AI is passionate about using a variety of different methodologies in working with child, adolescent, and adult clients, including Person-Centred Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. Ai has a special interest and extensive experience in:
- Helping adults and children with depression and various anxiety disorders, including social anxiety.
- Conducting psychological and cognitive assessments and completing clinical assessment reports.
- Helping adults, children, and adolescents with poor self-image, low confidence, and reduced self-esteem.
- Assisting clients from all age groups cope with grief, loss and trauma.
- Working with children who have poor concentration and study skills, as well as behavioural issues.
- Helping individuals, couples, and families with relationship difficulties.
